In Scandinavia, winter is very much so the most manly time of the year. To honor this, The Bladins Times hereby proclaim this week (week 49) as the official Manweek F/W 2010. We urge you to spend more time than usual doing manly activities, and to write articles about your deeds and doings. We will then publish what we consider the best of these articles on our web paper.
Obviously, there are stereotypes as to what is, and is not, considered manly and The Bladins Times encourages manliness in all of its diverse forms. However, there are certain key words an concepts that are important to mention in a context such as this. These include:
- Chopping wood
- Cooking rustic food
- Building/repairing things
- Drinking beer
- Drinking whiskey
- Cold bathing
- Making fires
- Drinking black coffee
- Smoking filterless cigarettes
If you find it hard to find the time for any manly activities, you can simply rock a flannel, jeans and boots in honor of the new holiday.
Send your story to firstname.lastname@example.org prior to the 15th of December. Good luck.
